Documents and clippings

This gallery contains copies of documents and news clippings from the Dobbie family archive. Included is a copy of the telegram signed by then Lt. Col. William Dobbie informing allied forces that the hostilities of World War I were to cease at 11:11 on 11 November 1918.

We highly recommend the documents from Dobbie's command during the Palestine Riots of 1929. They show Dobbie's refusal to enact martial law and refusal to bomb the Arab villages to punish rioters.
